I don’t know if this was simply a meditation on mortality or something much more personal, but it stayed with me.
Ironically, I remember believing that nothing I did would matter, that one day I’d just become the years with a dash in between. But the older I get, the more I realize the dash isn’t important because people remember it forever. It’s important because you get to live it. And somehow that changes everything.
For what it’s worth, life has a strange way of becoming fuller than you ever thought it could. I hope you get to experience that. Amazing piece, regardless🤍
Hmm... I can't tell if some midnight blues, or something else. Soo... Let me unpack my thoughts if I may. You talk about something as complex as life being represented by a simple dash. Well, here's a spin to that. Maybe the dash is more than a dash. A line. A journey from point A to point B. And as anyone who enjoys road trips will tell you, it's about the journey, not the destination. Maybe that little dash is a bit more than a little dash.
Another thought: you say people won't remember your accomplishments when you leave. You'll just be a number on a rock is what I gathered. Have you considered literally anyone who has died ever? The famous are still known today. And the lesser known also have their stories shared for generations. If what you're actually thinking is that you worry no one will ever know the full you, well, kinda. No one person will. But the memories of all who knew you could keep your full self alive.
Now, imma quit yapping as I'm sure you don't need my thoughts on this. Talk to me whenever you want. Even about anything. I'll be there
